Inquiry Skye's Treasure

Skye got this trophy for being the Hardest Tryer Player from the Queenspark Netball Club. It is a treasure because it is special.

Inquiry Tasman's Treasure

Tasman made this treasure with her dad. She had to heat up the copper to bend it into shape. Her clever Dad helped her.

Discovery Time

In our Discovery Time we blew up balloons and then poked a skewer through them.  We thought they would pop but they did not because of the polymers that bind the molecules together. When we took the skewers out we thought that they would pop but they did not they just went down.  It was fun.

Fossils for our Inquiry

We made dinosaur fossils.  Fossils are treasures because they show us what the world was like millions of years ago.

Circle Time

We talked about things that we want to be good at.

Fossils

Maisie found a crab fossil at Motanau, it is a treasure.

June 13

Our classroom looks just the same as when we left it.  It even looks quite tidy.

June 13

Today when we started to do our handwriting about 1pm, we all "experienced" a 5.5 aftershock.  We all got under the desks and waited while our relocatable stopped shaking.  We all went out onto the field with everyone else.  We all remembered not to yell and upset other people. We are all OK. Our Mums, Dads and extended families came to pick us up from school.  When nearly everyone had gone, about 2.20pm we had a bigger aftershock, we all sat down on the cricket pitch.
Here are some photos of what it looks like round our school.  It is all rather wet! We are all safe which is the main thing.  And guess what? That spelling is going to get marked.

Don't forget to look after one another and have lots of hugs.

Discovery Time

In our Discovery Time we learnt about what "matter" is. Everything is made up of matter, solids, liquids, gases, plasmas and a newer matter called Boise Einstein.  We did an experiment to show how polymers wraped around a skewer to stop the water coming out of a zipper bag.

Saving money

Our personal trainer Holly made us think about how we could earn money and we did a chore bootcamp.

Inquiry Treasures

Some people really treasure heanaed hands.  We enjoyed making our own heanaed hands.

Saving Money

Holly came and talked to us about looking after our money and how important it is to spend some for you and save some for later. She said that saving is like training. The earlier you start the better you do. So spend some on you and save some too.
