Fractions
We like eating Mrs Bourkes banana cakes. She makes them from some of the banana's that people forget to eat and leave in the classroom. Today the banana cake had chocolate in it. We cut it up into fractions. We had to make sure that everyone got a piece. First we had to work out how many people there were in the classroom. We have 26 children, but 3 were away so that made 23 but we had 2 extra people so that made 25. We then decided that we had to cut the cake into 25ths. So each person got 1/25th of the cake. It was yummy. It had chocolate icing on it.

Earthquake
There was an earthquake in Christchurch. I was scared. My sister was screaming and I could hear glass breaking. We got under the table. It went for 30 seconds and it was 7.1. It was really scary.

The Perfect World
Jack and Luke have been learning about We are the World and thinking about what a perfect world is. It is when you have healthy food, fresh air, good homes to live in, healthy drinks. If you feel loved you feel happy. Being kept safe and being responsible and helping people work.

Jack and I were good at reading the words. A perfect world is where people can live and have a house to live in, water and food.

Report
Frogs
By Jack
Frogs like to eat flies and crickets. Some frogs eat different things.
There are heaps of different kinds. There is a bell frog and a tree frog and a bull frog.
They live in a jungle and in ponds. Some look brown and green.
