Winning Letter in "The Press"

It is so exciting, we "won" the winning letter in "The  Press". We are sad though that we "won" through the sadness of others. Our teacher put it in a week ago.  She looked every day and then thought "Oh, well, they are not going to print it." Then on Friday, there it was.  She is so proud of us all.  She wanted to text all her friends at 5am in the morning, when she read it but had to wait until they were out of bed.

It was so nice to have it printed the day after the very sad day when the service was held for the miners.  We all had two minutes silence to remember them.  This is the page it was on and you can see the cartoon on one of our other Pike River Coal Mine blogs.

It is the start of summer. We are all wearing our sun hats... even when the sun is not shining.

Book Week

We dressed up as different characters from books for book week.  Can you guess who we are?

Clifford has been at school again, for our book fair. He has been loitering round.

Clifford visited our school. Clifford loves reading and so does Dathan.  They are both really good readers because they use reading strategies.

Community Award

Today Keely won a community award for being a very responsible person.  She rang 111 after a car crash, she also cleaned up the glass. We are very proud of her. She got a certicicate and a goody bag.

I went to see the All Blacks at QE2.  They were awesome.  They signed the sheet.  I think they are good at tackling.

I went and saw the All Blacks at QE2.  It was sensational because there were heaps of people and I got to see the whole team. I got my photo taken.

Demolition

They have nearly finished demolishing the old buildings.  It looks very empty.
