In the past horses were used for carriages . Now days people only have them in the country and in the city there are cars.
There are heaps of types of horses like bay, chestnut and Shetland. Almost all ponies and horses are used in the same way. Some horses are used for show ponies and some people just want a pet.
Horses normally just eat grass. Horses should at least get a treat, sometimes get a treat like a carrot or an apple. They have to this nut stuff. If they don’t get the nutrition that they need they could get very sick and nobody wants that.
Ponies and horses need a lot of care. People sometimes hire a famer or something. Every day you have to feed and brush them. If you want to ride your pony or your horse you will need a saddle, a riding helmet and some reins, a saddle blanket and some riding gear.

I have got a horse and it takes a lot of care. Its name is Sari and it is chestnut, which is an orangy brown colour.
